Impact Adds Up Art Installation
City Eventions
“Putting art into action. In partnership with artist Bob Faust, we unveiled a first-of-its-kind, large-scale art installation that drove real-time donations for charitable causes across the city of Chicago.”
– Bank of America
Overview
Created by artist Bob Faust for Bank of America, Impact Adds Up is an interactive traveling public art installation that transformed everyday engagement into meaningful impact. Designed to blend creativity, technology, and charitable action, the experience invited the public to participate directly through simple, intuitive interactions.
The installation traveled through some of Chicago’s most recognizable locations, including The Art Institute of Chicago, Pioneer Court, and the finish line of the Chicago Marathon, engaging thousands of participants and demonstrating how small actions can combine to create lasting change.
Fabricated and produced by Pinpoint in partnership with City Eventions, the installation encouraged visitors to scan, donate, and contribute in real time, turning spectators into active participants in a citywide expression of collective impact.

Background
Impact Adds Up was designed as a traveling public art installation capable of moving seamlessly across high-profile locations while maintaining a strong visual presence and structural integrity. The campaign needed to function simultaneously as an expressive art piece and a durable, interactive experience, engaging large public audiences across multiple deployments.
Pinpoint engineered and fabricated a series of freestanding display pedestals, and a large-scale cube structure designed for stability, visibility, and repeated installation. At the center of the experience, a secured, museum-style enclosure showcased curated charitable items while a life-size QR code, made of dimensional elements, invited interaction, enabling participants to scan, donate, and contribute while protecting the contents. Custom flooring, sponsor graphics, and branded elements ensured a consistent visual identity at every stop.
From its debut at The Art Institute of Chicago, to a two-day activation at Pioneer Court, and finally to the finish line of the Chicago Marathon, Impact Adds Up carried a single message through the heart of the city: when individual actions combine, the result is something powerful enough to move an entire crowd.
