About The Project
The University of Rhode Island, esteemed member of the Atlantic 10 conference, sought to improve their competitive position within the conference. By investing a substantial $8 million from the university and generous donors, they revamped the URI Soloviev basketball practice facility into a modern, attractive space, enhancing its overall image.
The URI Soloviev Basketball Practice Facility offers twenty-four-hour access to training and cutting-edge technology for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams. It serves as a top-notch destination for talented student-athletes aspiring to compete at the highest collegiate level.
The Build
Pinpoint worked closely with architect partner Populous and general contractor Tower Construction to turn the creative vision of the URI Soloviev Basketball Practice Facility into a reality. Our team expertly designed and produced graphics and branding elements such as back-lit channel letters, dimensional lettering, frosted logos on glass, edge-lit display case elements, corridor graphics, concessions signage, court side logos, wall-mounted banners, and more.

- Edge-lit media, alumni, history, accomplishments, and donor signage
- Jersey displays and edge-lit MVP jersey designs

Results
The facility's new branding creates a visually stunning atmosphere, enhancing the attraction for talented student-athletes aspiring to compete at the highest collegiate level. The practice facility is located in the Mackal Fieldhouse on the Kingston, Rhode Island campus.
Ribbon Cutting
The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on the facility’s court and was attended by university leadership and donors, athletics officials and athletes, and Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee. All remarks from the day agreed that the rebranding and investment in Soloviev will foster long-term growth initiatives for the school, the state, coaches, and student-athletes.
