Pirelli Calendar Launch

This Italian tire company has been releasing an annual calendar since the ’60s, which features glamourous top models shot by leading photographers. In the wake of #blacklivesmatter, “The Cal” for 2018 featured an all-black cast in a modern take on Alice in Wonderland, photographed through the fantastical lens of Tim Walker.

Pirelli’s launch party for the calendar was held at Manhattan Center and Pinpoint was called in to make every aspect of this event a picture-perfect experience.

Pantone Color Book

Pinpoint branded every inch of the venue with custom graphics to enhance the calendar’s outlandish theme. Large-format scenes from the calendar were highlighted on the walls. Our favorite part of the project was covering the lobby and promenade areas of the venue with a warped checkered pattern to truly provide a trippy sense of the Alice in Wonderland theme. We also provided the branding for the Pirelli Calendar 2018 launch press conference at The Pierre Hotel.

This was a multi-location, 5-day installation with all graphical elements to be showcased over one incredible night. Pinpoint’s attention to detail was indispensable, and we delivered an otherworldly layer of excellence for this remarkable event.
